A New Generation of Babtec Software
Perfectly timed for our 30th anniversary, we are proud to present a new generation of our software: Along with numerous technical advancements, Babtec 8 provides the basis for the first artificial intelligence applications. In addition, the new software generation offers integration of 3D CAD models and a new risk management module.
New Module: Reduce Risks and Increase Opportunities
Together with software modules such as process management, checklists or requirements management, the new risk management module provides further support for setting up and expanding Integrated Management Systems (IMS). Based on a holistic approach, it includes numerous functions for evaluating risks and opportunities, planning and tracking appropriate actions, and regularly reviewing and re-evaluating them. Because the consideration of risks and opportunities is required by standards, particularly in the context of business processes, risk analyses can be linked to processes in the process management module.
The diverse and often dynamic relationships and dependencies between the system elements play a significant role in the complexity of an Integrated Management System. While the process map provides an overview of a company's process organization, the IMS Viewer offers a completely new approach to graphically visualize the existing real relationships, interfaces and interactions between the process-relevant elements of an IMS, making the complexity of the management system manageable.
Three-dimensional CAD Models for Quality Assurance
In addition to IMS support, we continue to focus on software solutions for quality assurance. One building block here is the further developed CAD integration, which offers comprehensive support for three-dimensional CAD models for the first time. This allows users to load 3D models directly from the CAD solution they are using into the Babtec software and to align, zoom and rotate them on the screen as desired. Product manufacturing information that may be contained in the 3D file is recognized and processed directly “behind the scenes”. The data obtained in this way can be used further, for example to prepare an FMEA or a part approval process.
In addition to the new functions mentioned, we have further developed the software's technology and infrastructure. This is particularly evident in the software's significantly improved speed and responsiveness – at the respective company's headquarters as well as at locations in and outside the home country or in work-from-home scenarios. In addition, the new technological basis of the Babtec software ensures improved protection of sensitive data.
Artificial Intelligence: Customers Can Play an Active Role
In addition, we have intensively studied artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The “Babtec DiscoverAI” project will start at the beginning of 2025 together with users, in which customers will be provided with the first AI functions of the software. In dialog with customers, we want to examine and further develop the applications in everyday practical use that have already been implemented. The focus is on the AI assistant Quorix, which, among other things, supports software operation. Quorix assists in creating a complaint from a continuous text, and in complaint processing using the proven 8D method, the new AI support can help to generate specific suggestions for actions. These can be transferred directly into the software at the push of a button.
In addition to evaluating these functions, the pilot project aims to use feedback from participating customers to identify further ideas for potential use of artificial intelligence. Participation in the project therefore offers exclusive insights into the new AI applications of the Babtec software, an opportunity to exchange experiences with other participants and, in addition, the chance to make an active contribution to the further development of the software by providing feedback on practical application. Interested users can apply to participate in the beta phase until the end of January 2025.
Contribution to Future-proofing and Investment Security
The further development of the software ensures the greatest possible future-proofing and investment security for our customers. In addition, by providing comprehensive support for Integrated Management Systems, we want to help our customers achieve their business goals even more effectively in the future. “The release of Babtec 8 in the year of our 30th anniversary is an important step – not only for us, but above all for our more than 1,250 customers,” emphasizes Michael Flunkert, managing director at Babtec. ”With its numerous innovations and improvements, both large and small, our latest software generation helps companies to master not only the challenges of the present, but also those of the future in line with their own corporate strategy.”
